Papua New Guinea & the Pacific
at MICE 2025–2026
Across two years at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo, Openflor helped Pacific coffee producers show up ready to sell by building buyer connections, market understanding and commercial momentum.
A booth is only useful if it helps move the business forward.
Working alongside the Australia–Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership and international trade partners, Openflor supported Pacific coffee producers at MICE with the preparation, coffee presentation and market engagement needed to make the most of one of the region’s most important industry events.
Across the 2025 and 2026 activations, our work focused on more than visibility. We helped producers understand the market they were entering, present their coffees clearly, connect with the right buyers and use the show as the beginning of a commercial relationship.
At MICE 2026, the delegation generated US$2.3 million in projected sales.
In 2026, the delegation brought 16 Pacific coffee producers to MICE, including 12 businesses from Papua New Guinea, alongside producers from Fiji, Vanuatu and Samoa.
The commercial response was significant: participating producers reported US$2.3 million in projected sales, with more than US$311,000 in contracts confirmed during the three-day expo itself.
The value went beyond signed orders. Producers were able to meet roasters and cafe businesses directly, see how their coffees were received in the Australian market, and gain a clearer understanding of what happens after their coffee leaves origin.
This is what good market engagement looks like at Openflor: stronger visibility, better market knowledge and conversations that turn into business.
